Watermelongate '09

In local news, Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose resigned about 2 hours ago for what the LA Weekly dubs as Watermelongate.

Pictured above is the White House lawn replaced with a watermelon patch. Mr. Grose sent this to coworkers and fellow members of the city for reasons beyond my comprehension.

I'm not saying that inappropriate, racial, or racist humor can't be funny because it certainly can be. But if you're the mayor of a city you have to hold back on the FWD button for a few seconds and think about what you're doing.

First of all, I totally heart racial jokes. The day im not allowed to tell one, im going to be a sad panda. Second the picture isnt that bad, its worse knowing LA weekly gave it a name and posted a picture deemed inappropriate for a mayor to show to a couple of people but yet okay for them to post for the world to see. LA weekly is just using this as an excuse to post that awesome picture and any racial backlash will just be deflected onto the former mayor of Los Alamitos (what the hell does the mayor of that city do anyway? cut the ribbon before the first race at the track?) because he sent it out. Fuck you racial deflector weekly, haha.
